Our first Marcus Q Woods Scholarship was awarded on February 6th, 2021 to Tina Valentine Christian. Tina is currently furthering her education and is a passionate advocate for recovery and founder of Heroines of Hope. She shared a powerful message with us that will stick for a lifetime. This event was memorable for all. We look forward to growing this foundation and being able to award these scholarhips annually to assist those down the path of recovery. Congratulations to Tina!

Bringing Change

The Marcus Q. Woods Memorial Scholarship is currently valued at $1,000, and is open to all adults residing in Northeast Ohio who need assistance, but wouldn’t be able to receive a path to higher learning without a scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded once annually. The Marcus Q. Woods Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of Marcus Q. Woods, who sadly passed away 9/13/2020. This scholarship was created to assist individuals who demonstrate clear goals
and would benefit from the motivational and financial assistance needed, to pursue a higher education. The Sky is the Limit is the profound message and mission we want to encourage as we establish this network in memory of Marcus, meaning that: There is no limit (to dreams, aspirations, expense, or the like) Anything is possible, and a person can
achieve ANYTHING.

REQUIREMENTS

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find the best candidate for this opportunity. We require:

Completed application
Written statement of career goals (minimum 250 words)
Letter of recommendation

All three items must be submitted in order to be considered.
